إِذۡ يَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا يَغۡشَىٰ
Ith yaghsha alssidrata ma yaghsha
When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]
Verse 16مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ
Ma zagha albasaru wama tagha
The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]
Verse 17لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ
Laqad raa min ayati rabbihi alkubra
He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord
Verse 18أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ
Afaraaytumu allata waalAAuzza
So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza
Verse 19وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓ
Wamanata alththalithata alokhra
And Manat, the third - the other one
Verse 20أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
Alakumu alththakaru walahu alontha
Is the male for you and for Him the female
Verse 21تِلۡكَ إِذٗا قِسۡمَةٞ ضِيزَىٰٓ
Tilka ithan qismatun deeza
That, then, is an unjust division
Verse 22إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّآ أَسۡمَآءٞ سَمَّيۡتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَٰنٍۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ
In hiya illa asmaon sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma anzala Allahu biha min sultanin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wama tahwa alanfusu walaqad jaahum min rabbihimu alhuda
They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance
Verse 23أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ
Am lilinsani ma tamanna
Or is there for man whatever he wishes
Verse 24فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ
Falillahi alakhiratu waaloola
Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]
Verse 25۞وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن يَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرۡضَىٰٓ
Wakam min malakin fee alssamawati la tughnee shafaAAatuhum shayan illa min baAAdi an yathana Allahu liman yashao wayarda
And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves
Verse 26إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati layusammoona almalaikata tasmiyata alontha
Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names
Verse 27وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَيۡـٔٗا
Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wainna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan
And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all
Verse 28فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ يُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
FaaAArid AAan man tawalla AAan thikrina walam yurid illa alhayata alddunya
So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life
Verse 29ذَٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
Thalika mablaghuhum mina alAAilmi inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bimani ihtada
That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided
Verse 30وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـُٔواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى
Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi liyajziya allatheena asaoo bima AAamiloo wayajziya allatheena ahsanoo bialhusna
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward]
Verse 31ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰٓئِرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةٞ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ
Allatheena yajtaniboona kabaira alithmi waalfawahisha illa allamama inna rabbaka wasiAAu almaghfirati huwa aAAlamu bikum ith anshaakum mina alardi waith antum ajinnatun fee butooni ommahatikum fala tuzakkoo anfusakum huwa aAAlamu bimani ittaqa
Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him
Verse 32أَفَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ
Afaraayta allathee tawalla
Have you seen the one who turned away
Verse 33وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِيلٗا وَأَكۡدَىٰٓ
WaaAAta qaleelan waakda
And gave a little and [then] refrained
Verse 34أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓ
aAAindahu AAilmu alghaybi fahuwa yara
Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees
Verse 35أَمۡ لَمۡ يُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ
Am lam yunabba bima fee suhufi moosa
Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses
Verse 36وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِي وَفَّىٰٓ
Waibraheema allathee waffa
And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations]
Verse 37أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٞ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ
Alla taziru waziratun wizra okhra
That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another
Verse 38وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
Waan laysa lilinsani illa ma saAAa
And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives
Verse 39وَأَنَّ سَعۡيَهُۥ سَوۡفَ يُرَىٰ
Waanna saAAyahu sawfa yura
And that his effort is going to be seen
Verse 40ثُمَّ يُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَآءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ
Thumma yujzahu aljazaa alawfa
Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense
Verse 41وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ
Waanna ila rabbika almuntaha
And that to your Lord is the finality
Verse 42وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ
Waannahu huwa adhaka waabka
And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep
Verse 43وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡيَا
Waannahu huwa amata waahya
And that it is He who causes death and gives life
Verse 44وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
Waannahu khalaqa alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha
And that He creates the two mates - the male and female
Verse 45مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ
Min nutfatin itha tumna
From a sperm-drop when it is emitted
Verse 46وَأَنَّ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ
Waanna AAalayhi alnnashata alokhra
And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation
Verse 47وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ
Waannahu huwa aghna waaqna
And that it is He who enriches and suffices
Verse 48وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ
Waannahu huwa rabbu alshshiAAra
And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius
Verse 49وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
Waannahu ahlaka AAadan aloola
And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad
Verse 50وَثَمُودَاْ فَمَآ أَبۡقَىٰ
Wathamooda fama abqa
And Thamud - and He did not spare [them]
Verse 51وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ
Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoo hum athlama waatgha
And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing
Verse 52وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ
Waalmutafikata ahwa
And the overturned towns He hurled down
Verse 53فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ
Faghashshaha ma ghashsha
And covered them by that which He covered
Verse 54فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
Fabiayyi alai rabbika tatamara
Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt
Verse 55هَٰذَا نَذِيرٞ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ
Hatha natheerun mina alnnuthuri aloola
This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners
Verse 56أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡأٓزِفَةُ
Azifati alazifatu
The Approaching Day has approached
Verse 57لَيۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ
Laysa laha min dooni Allahi kashifatun
Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover
Verse 58أَفَمِنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ
Afamin hatha alhadeethi taAAjaboona
Then at this statement do you wonder
Verse 59وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ
Watadhakoona wala tabkoona
And you laugh and do not weep
Verse 60وَأَنتُمۡ سَٰمِدُونَ
Waantum samidoona
While you are proudly sporting
Verse 61فَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلَّهِۤ وَٱعۡبُدُواْ۩
Faosjudoo lillahi waoAAbudoo
So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]
Verse 62
